1. What is your favorite thing to do on your days off: I like to roast coffee, take care of our land and animals, hang out with my wife and kids. We have pigs, sheep, rabbits, dogs, bees, chickens, and a big garden to tend so we’re kept busy all the time.

2. What is your favorite part of your role at SSI: I’ve felt welcome since the day I started seven months ago. I wanted to get involved and a part of the SSI culture and was accepted very quickly into the Shares program which has been a lot of fun to be a part of that team.

3. What is do you see as the next step in your career at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): I would love to grow and help in any way that I can with SSI. I hope to continue to be a part of the SSI Shares program and maybe one day be placed into a department or task order manager role.

4. What is your favorite thing about working at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): I love being a part of a team that really cares about us and our families. It’s been a pleasure to be listened to and advised when I feel there are struggles and know that the management all the way to the top knows who I am and what I’m doing.

5. How has your career advanced since you’ve been with SSI: I continue to take on every opportunity that I can in my current role. My position is still the same as I’m relatively new but I can see great upward movement in the future as we continue to move forward.

6. Where is your happy place in Huntsville, AL: We live a little south of Huntsville so whenever my wife and I get a rare date away from the kids and farm we love to visit at a little sushi place called Miyako on the south Parkway. It’s a happy place for us to visit without interruption and enjoy some great sushi.

8. What is one thing you cannot do without: My wife, kids, and coffee.

What is your favorite thing to do on your days off: Beyond hanging with my family and 2 kids, I love playing Golf (enthusiastically but poorly) whenever I can.

What is your favorite part of your role at SSI: Which role?! Maybe that’s my favorite part. I love working for a small business because I get opportunities to learn and serve in a variety of areas across the broad spectrum of what we do to support customers.

What do you see as the next step in your career at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): I look forward to continuing to learn about Task Order Manager responsibilities and acquisition analyst support. 

What is your favorite thing about working at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI):Apart from the people, which has to be the first thing that comes to mind, I’d say the culture of growth. SSI is an extremely supportive environment, but there are always people and leaders who are willing to challenge you and give you opportunities to grow. It’s important to feel secure and supported, but we don’t grow until we get uncomfortable. SSI provides the right balance of support and opportunity that generates sustainable personal/career growth.

How has your career advanced since you’ve been with SSI:I came on as a technical writer to support a customer. Since joining, I’ve provided that customer technical writing/editing support, manpower support, become the documentation lead for my customer, taken over managing a contract, and added acquisition analyst support. For SSI, I’ve taken on Department Manager responsibilities and am beginning Task Order Management as well.

Where is your happy place in Huntsville, AL: I have a few. My house, the golf course, and Monte Sano/Land Trust trails are all happy places for me.

What is your favorite quote: It’s unfair to make me pick one, but for now I’ll say that my favorite quote is: “All the truth in the world is held in stories.” My grandfather was a great storyteller, and to this day I remain convinced that one of the most effective tools we have at our disposal to help others understand something is an appropriate story.

What is one thing you cannot do without:My wife and kids. Other than that, I have to have outside, physical hobbies. When I go without exercise in the fresh air, I deteriorate.

What is your favorite thing to do on your days off: Work on house projects if not SUPing (Stand-Up Paddleboarding).

What is your favorite part of your role at SSI: The learnings that comes with the challenges the customer presents on pretty much a daily basis.

What do you see as the next step in your career at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): Using my broad experience and expertise in Quality and Data Management as an available resource for SSI to expand customers.

What is your favorite thing about working at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): I have to say the benefits, but I have to recognize leadership for looking after the employees and how they had managed to create a support environment for the success of company customer relationships.

How has your career advanced since you’ve been with SSI: Arriving to Huntsville 17 years ago with just a BS in Science of Agriculture where everything is mostly defense and engineering, my goal was to diversify my education and experience to make it to the Arsenal. After Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace for Missile and Defense all in the private sector performing as a Statistician and Data Analyst in Quality Systems and Technology, SSI gave me the opportunity to make it to the Arsenal. This time performing in the Finance department maintaining and developing SharePoint as the platform for data collection, storage and reporting. In just a year in SSI, I had developed SharePoint developer skills that broaden my knowledge and experience to the Information and Technology field. Did I said my goal was to diversify my career to make it to the Arsenal. Thanks SSI!

Where is your happy place in Huntsville, AL: Since no lake in Huntsville to SUP, my house. When hungry and lazy at I Love Sushi!

What is one thing you cannot do without: My kids and an old school calculator.

What is your favorite thing to do on your days off: I am all about my family. We eat (a lot) together, play basketball and laugh always. My niece, Winnie, is the light of my world, I love being an aunt. I also like taking my cat, Vina, for walks in my neighborhood to the tennis court.

What is your favorite part of your role at SSI: Being a part of a team of educated, motivated, driven people that truly dedicate themselves to the mission at hand. I am a Reserve Soldier, as well, and it is fulfilling to see people be so dedicated to the Warfighter. 

What do you see as the next step in your career at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI):  I would like to further my position with the Business team, but also become more involved with internal SSI operations.

What is your favorite thing about working at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI):I love, love being a part of SSI Shares. I believe in the program and appreciate leadership’s dedication to it. Also, the support from my present and former SSI team leads is awesome!

How has your career advanced since you’ve been with SSI: I have had several opportunities, government and SSI wise to develop, specifically in the Business unit within AGSE. It has been an honor. I feel completely supported by SSI and my customer.

Where is your happy place in Huntsville, AL:My mom’s kitchen. No question, no doubt.

What is one thing you cannot do without: Jesus.

What is your favorite thing to do on your days off: I love being at home.  You would think teleworking would have deterred my love of being at home but no.  I love being with my family, watching movies or documentaries and trying new recipes.

What is your favorite part of your role at SSI: Getting to know people throughout the organization.  It’s always refreshing to see how SSI recruits some of the most optimistic and positive people.

What do you see as the next step in your career at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): I’m honestly not sure.  Is there anything left to do that Daniel doesn’t already do? 🙂  I really just enjoy being part of the team and appreciate that Lee and Jason communicate the intention of the company so clearly to the staff and make us feel included.

What is your favorite thing about working at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): SSI Shares.  It’s really unusual for a company to give its employees full reign over picking the organizations to support and giving 100% of the donations to that organization.  It feels good participating.

How has your career advanced since you’ve been with SSI: I’ve been given the opportunities to broaden the scope of my work experience by my own choosing.  Every time I’ve expressed an interest in learning something new, I’ve been given the opportunity to train and be paired with people to get hands on experience. I feel like it makes me more useful to my customer and also keeps me engaged.

Where is your happy place in Huntsville, AL: Any place facing west at 5:00p.m. in the winter.  The sunset on the drive home is magical.

What is your favorite quote: “Today me loves yesterday me.”  It’s what I say when I find I have prepared myself for success by calendaring information or reminders and then forgotten about them.  Due date arises and I think, oh, today will be crazy.  Then I find where I’ve set myself up for success by already prepping the information, calendaring a reminder where I left off and where to find the information to respond quickly.  Then I say out loud, “Today me loves yesterday me!” Makes the whole day better.

What is one thing you cannot do without: Family and family I get to choose.  Nothing else matters if you don’t find your people to celebrate the good times with or to hold your hand during the bad times.  Aside from that, I might fight you for a good cup of coffee or a coke on occasion.

How has your career advance since you’ve been with SSI: In early 2018, I started at SSI in the Back Office doing what ever Jason and Lee needed assistance. After a short time, I began assuming more responsibilities. Now I am the Operations Lead, Business Development Lead, Contract Specialist, ITPSO, Property Manager, Quality Manager, IT Lead – along with a few others!

Where is your happy place in Huntsville, AL: My wife and I have been restoring an 1830s house here in Huntsville. Any free time we have, we love spending time there working on it and should be able to move in to it soon!

What are some of your hobbies: Home renovation, woodworking, vegetable gardening, hiking, cooking, and spending time with my wife and son. 

• What is your favorite thing to do on your days off: When I have days off I love to go on short trips, especially with friends and family!
• What is your favorite part of your role at SSI: My favorite part about being a Facility Operations Analyst is that I get to help solve concrete problems in real time. It’s rewarding to help make people’s work environment tangibly better!
• What is do you see as the next step in your career at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): For my next step within SSI, I would like to get involved in Task Order Management.
• What is your favorite thing about working at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): SSI’s people are my favorite thing about the company! I have great, generous coworkers and managers who sacrifice time and effort to support me and make me feel like a valued member of the team. It feels like a family here, which is a rare and valuable thing.
• How has your career advanced since you’ve been with SSI: I’m still in the position I started in about 17 months ago, but I’ve learned so much during that time, and have gotten great exposure to every facet of AMSA, my government customer. I’ve also been given a lot of responsibility in the Operations realm at AMSA, including getting to work on complex projects with both peers and leadership. I’m getting extremely valuable experience that will help me succeed in the future.
• Where is your happy place in Huntsville, AL: My happy place is The Nook, a venerable old craft beer bar off Bob Wallace Avenue. The by-the-glass beer selection is unbeatable, which is saying a lot in this town, and the quiet, mature atmosphere lends itself to pleasant conversation or even a game of chess (one of my other favorite activities).
• What is your favorite quote: I have too many favorites to name just one, but one of them comes from C.S. Lewis, who observed: “We meet no ordinary people in our lives.”
• What is one thing you cannot do without: I can’t do without getting to spend regular time with my family. I’ve found that being away from them for very long makes me a pitifully unhappy person.

• How has your career advance since you’ve been with SSI: Opportunity to FMS within AGSE. Something I hadn’t planned for.

• What is one thing you cannot do without: I won’t know until I don’t have it.

• What is your favorite thing to do on your days off: On my off days, you’re most likely to find me strolling through a home improvement store looking for a new gadget/tool/item for my next DIY project and/or working in my flower beds at home.  I do know you will not see me sitting down for very long.  I enjoy being up and out of the house whenever life allows.
• What is your favorite part of your role at SSI:  I enjoy the variety of tasks and workload.  No two days are ever the same. 
• What is do you see as the next step in your career at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI): Baby steps.  I’ve recently been assigned as Task Order Manager (TOM), so I’ll take on those responsibilities now and if the door opens for more opportunity and/or responsibility, then I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.  For now, I’m focusing on learning the role of TOM while continuing to provide daily support to my customer.
• What is your favorite thing about working at Stratagem Solutions, Inc (SSI):  There are some truly great things about working for SSI.  If I had to identify one thing though, it would have to be that the leadership of SSI is crazy, super supportive of and encourages its employees to take ownership and to simply be the best.  The trust that the leadership has afforded me is like nothing I’ve had with my previous employers. 
• How has your career advance since you’ve been with SSI:  Since on-boarding with SSI in November 2020, I’ve been assigned as task order manager for some of our support contracts.    
• Where is your happy place in Huntsville, AL: Well, I don’t necessarily have a happy place in Huntsville because I live in Decatur, but my happy place isn’t in Decatur either.  My happy place is pretty much any sandy shoreline where the temperature is 85 degrees or higher.

• What is one thing you cannot do without:  My husband – cliché I know, but it’s true.  He is the voice of reason when I’m not and my sounding board.
