The Alliance for Opportunity and Development (AOD) provides life-changing, job-training scholarships to low-income adults in our area. Selectees learn new vocational / technical skills and then earn their way out of poverty. Scholarships are for select programs at local educational institutions which can be completed in two years or less. Programs include nursing, welding, drafting, HVAC, and more. AOD graduate accomplishments include moving out of subsidized housing, purchasing reliable transportation, purchasing homes, continuing their education (sometimes with the help of employer provided tuition assistance), and providing better lives for their children.
